The plain-language version. The sections below are the binding detail.
- Sigquill is free to use. No purchase, no subscription, ever.
- The signatures you create are yours to use anywhere, indefinitely.
- No account or password needed — you build and export directly in your browser.
- If you choose to donate, it’s voluntary and non-refundable.
- The one rule: don’t resell or repackage Sigquill’s templates as your own product.
01This agreement
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are the agreement between you and Sigquill (“Sigquill,” “we,” “us”), operated as a sole proprietorship, governing your use of the Sigquill product and websites. By using the builder, you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the product.
If you’re using Sigquill on behalf of a company or organization, you confirm you’re authorized to accept these Terms for them.
02What Sigquill is
Sigquill is a tool for building professional HTML email signatures that render cleanly across email clients — including the ones, like classic Outlook, that mangle most signatures. You design a signature in the builder, preview it, then export and install it.
You can explore the builder, choose a template, edit your details, preview the result, and export the installable, paste-ready output — all without paying anything or creating an account.
03Cost & donations
Sigquill is free to use. There is no charge, no subscription, and no payment required at any point — building, previewing, and exporting your signature costs you nothing.
If you’d like to support the project, you can make a voluntary donation. A donation is optional, does not unlock or change any feature of the product, and is not a payment for goods or services — so donations are non-refundable.
04Delivery & access
Sigquill runs entirely in your browser. There’s no account to create, no password to remember, and no purchase confirmation to wait for — your draft is saved locally in your browser as you work, and you can export it whenever you’re ready.
Because there’s no account, we keep no record tying a signature to you. If you switch devices or clear your browser storage, your draft won’t carry over — there’s no server-side copy to recover it from. If you run into trouble, contact support@sigquill.com.
05Your license to use what you create
The signature you build is yours. You may use the exported signatures you create with Sigquill for any lawful personal or business purpose, on as many of your own email accounts as you like, for as long as you like. We claim no ownership over your name, details, or the signatures you produce.
What you may not do is take Sigquill’s underlying templates, builder, or code and resell, sublicense, redistribute, or repackage them as your own product or template offering. The license is to use your finished signatures — not to compete with the tool that made them.
06Acceptable use
Please use Sigquill in good faith. Specifically, don’t:
- Attempt to break, overload, probe, or circumvent the builder or our systems;
- Use the product to create signatures that are unlawful, deceptive, or that impersonate someone else;
- Scrape, copy, or reverse-engineer the templates or code for republication.
We may suspend access that is clearly abusive, fraudulent, or in breach of these Terms.
07Availability & changes to the product
We work to keep Sigquill available and the templates rendering correctly, and we verify templates on a live Microsoft 365 account before they ship. That said, the service is provided on an “as available” basis, with no warranty that it will be available at any particular time. We may update templates, improve the builder, or occasionally take the service offline for maintenance.
We may also modify or discontinue Sigquill, in whole or in part, at any time, without liability to you.
08Disclaimers & limitation of liability
Email clients are notoriously inconsistent, and rendering can vary with a recipient’s software, settings, and future updates outside our control. We test rigorously, but we can’t guarantee a signature will appear pixel-identical in every client and configuration that exists or will exist. The product is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Sigquill will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Because Sigquill is provided free of charge, our total liability for any claim relating to the product is limited to the total amount of any voluntary donations you made to us in the twelve months before the claim arose, or $0 if you made none. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under mandatory consumer-protection law in your country.
09Governing terms
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable where Sigquill is operated, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules, and subject to any mandatory consumer protections of your country of residence. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. We’ll always try to resolve issues directly and fairly first — most things are settled with a single email.
10Changes & contact
We may update these Terms from time to time; the “Last updated” date above will reflect any change, and continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
